15 Dogs, one afternoon

15Quick, quirky and winner of the 2015 Giller

After reading ‘Fifteen Dogs’ I did a lot of googling to figure out what I just read. Reviews were generous, dishing out lots of fours, some fives, but similar in their vague descriptions of what you should expect as a reader. Maybe this is why ’15 Dogs’ won the Giller. It’s open to interpretation and easy to defend as a work of intellectual and philosophical stimulation. You are asked to think about the value of consciousness. Does it make the lives of humans better or worse than the lives of dogs?

Does it? I don’t know. I still don’t know. I think I missed something here. But you might like it.
